Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the evaluation process take?

Most ASD evaluations are completed in 2–3 in-person sessions over the course of 1–3 weeks, followed by a feedback session. The full timeline from intake to final report is typically 3–4 weeks depending on complexity and scheduling. I do try to make every effort to get the report back to you as quickly as possible. For ADHD testing, we can typically complete the in-person portion in two sessions.

What age ranges do you evaluate?

I evaluate children, adolescents, and adults. For an autism assessment using the ADOS, we can evaluate your child at 12 months old and up. ADHD assessments typically start at age 5 and up. If you’re unsure whether an evaluation is appropriate for your child’s age, feel free to reach out.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed. You can contact me directly to schedule a free consultation.

What should I bring to the first appointment?

Please bring:

  • Any relevant prior evaluations or IEP/504 plans

  • Completed intake forms (which I’ll send ahead of time)

  • Your questions or concerns—we’ll go over everything in detail

Will I receive a diagnosis?

If the assessment supports a diagnosis (e.g., autism or ADHD), I will include it in the final report along with detailed clinical rationale and recommendations. If no diagnosis is warranted, the report will still include strengths, challenges, and suggestions for support.

What if I just want clarity and recommendations without a formal diagnosis?

That’s absolutely fine. Many people pursue assessments simply to better understand themselves or their child. Diagnostic labels are only used when they are helpful and clinically appropriate.

Can this evaluation help with school accommodations?

Yes. The reports I provide are comprehensive and can be used to support requests for IEPs, 504 Plans, or school-based services.
